Spring is starting to pop in Ireland and flowers are starting to bloom. Daffodils are everywhere on the sides of the roads. Planter boxes filled with pretty colour. Give it a couple more weeks and there will be more flowers. So here are the best of my limited flower photos.

Spring is starting to pop in Ireland and flowers are starting to bloom. Daffodils are everywhere on the sides of the roads. Planter boxes filled with pretty colour. Give it a couple more weeks and there will be more flowers. So here are the best of my limited flower photos.

Nothing brings me greater pleasure than walking around the garden collecting flowers. The colours don’t really go together but happy to be able to arrange these. One dahlia not eaten by grasshoppers, crepe Myrtle, celosia, gladioli, native hydrangea. My own Valentines Day flowers! Hope you’ve been spoiled. 🌸💕🌼❤️

I am participating in the Island Charity Swim again this year. A 10k swim which raises money for our local special schools. I will be hosting 2 paper flower workshops with all proceeds going towards my fundraising. The workshops are on Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30. All details are on my website. Love being able to pick a bunch of these lilies to give to a special friend. They self seed every year and pop up all over the garden. I get more and more each year. They don’t last long but make a happy fresh arrangement. 💕🌸☀️🌼

My survival of the fittest garden has loved all this rain. Many flowers have flourished despite the family of wallabies and plague of grasshoppers that have moved in. Harvested my first blueberries! They were so sweet!!

Privileged to help my friend create the casket flowers for her dear mum. Jenny loved her garden in Maleny which was prolific with hedges of camellia and azalea. So pretty. In the days before the funeral her azaleas and camellias bloomed to present an amazing farewell. We picked camellia and port wine magnolia foliage from her garden, including ivy and a small pink flowers plus camellias and azaleas. Together with her favourite flowers I had sourced, we created a beautiful floral tribute to Jenny.

As we gathered together to create this exquisite flower tribute, we shared many joyful memories, tears and cups of tea. This was a deeply personal and moving experience that felt like a little ray of sunshine, in the midst of deep sadness. Collaboratively they worked together placing flowers in the arrangement. Some family members who could not be present dialled in via FaceTime and flowers were placed for them in the arrangement too. I chose flowers that represented their country of origin (proteas and leucadendrons) coupled with Australian eucalyptus and wattle. All agreed that H would have loved that his family were coming together to show their respect for him in this way. A memorial service was held a couple of days later and the floral tribute was placed next to H’s photo. Working together with her daughter, daughter in law and granddaughter, they selected flowers and colours they knew she liked. The soft pretty colour palette and flower selection was like an English country garden. We cut a piece of pink daisy from her garden, a cutting from her mother from many years ago, plus some lavender and foliage which were used in the arrangement. I tucked a kindness heart in amongst the flowers….. a kindness heart for a kind and caring lady. A therapeutic and cathartic opportunity for these girls to pay a final tribute to their cherished mum and grandmother.
